Its His Wedding Too

There are lots of different types of grooms. Some want to be involved in the intimate wedding details, some care a little less, and some couldn’t care any less. If you are a bride who would like to have her groom involved in the planning, here are some suggestions to hopefully help your journey together toward “I DO”.

After you’re engaged, be intentional about having a discussion with your groom-to-be about the wedding planning. Let him know sincerely that you’d like to have him involved in the details of the wedding. Let him know that you’d like your wedding planning to be a fun time that is the beginning of your life journey together and you want the details of your big day to reflect both of you and your personalities. He can be as involved as he’s like, but you truly value his input and opinions.

It’s hard sometimes in wedding planning to keep your emotions under control. When involving your groom it is very important that you don’t begin to bark orders and hand over to-do lists. There are going to be some things that he may naturally be more interested in, such as tasting the menu or choosing a DJ. Ask him what aspects he’d like to be more involved in, let him help take some of the burden off of you. And once you hand something over, trust your groom to take care of it. Nobody likes a Bridezilla, least of all her groom so try to keep the demands to a minimum.

Have fun! This should be the most wonderful time in your life so far, don’t waste it bickering or disagreeing. This is his wedding too! Include him, give in to some of his requests and desires, love each other through this crazy process and you’ll have memories to treasure always!
